My brother Alain

dad, Alain, me and momma. Wedding Day 2004
Doing his thang.

This is my brother, Alain (pronounced "a-lawn". It's French). He's an incredible guitar player and plays in a band called The Concept of Zero in the North Bay Area of California. I think I developed my incredible love for good ole rock and some metal music from him. That's all I heard growing up as he used to BLAST Zeppelin and Metallica causing me to lose a lot of much needed teenager sleep. We didn't always get along. He's just a little under 2 years older than me and wow, did we cause my parents some insane moments. I miss him. It's just us. No other siblings besides some wonderful step siblings that became our family in 2000. I think because it was just us and my parents, just the 4 of us, we were able to travel so much growing up. My parents took us to some AMAZING places. France, Jamaica, Lebanon, Syria, Sweden, Mexico, Hawaii and many other great vacations. I know that's how my love for culture and good ethnic foods were developed. I grew up about 50 minutes North of San Francisco and we used to jot down to the City all the time and see off Broadway shows, eat ethnic food, shop and drive around in the city. Oh and every year around Christmas, we would go to the Santa Lucia performance at this Swedish place in the city. I LOVE the city by the Bay and sorry all you DBacks lovers out there, the Giants will always have my heart. These city adventures are definitely where my love of big cities have come about. Oh how I wish I could introduce all of those things to my children. Bryce has developed a HUGE love for ethnic foods, rock and roll and big cities too. I LOVE it!
Anyhow, I was thinking earlier how many memories he and I have and how important it is to journal those memories so we don't forget them cause when my parents pass on, it'll only be him and I who can share those memories....kinda weird. Anyway, I just miss my family BUT we ARE going to see them in a couple weeks when we take our 1 and 1/2 week vacay to Cali. I can't wait!

Hey! I love your thoughts - classic brother sister (cool sibling) memeories. :) How great you were able to be close and remain close - what a blessing! No one knows us like our siblings do, huh? Expect our parents maybe... I am jealous - California vaca?? Yeah, Pace's family was there all last week, no can do for us though. I had a difficult time sending them positive vibes/thoughts while they lounged on the beach and we, well, didn't. :) Ha! Whatever, have fun! Keep making and enjoying those special memories! Life is sweet with them huh. :)
