It seems as though the front runners now in this presidential race are Obama for the Dem's and McCain for the Repubs. I wanna know who you will vote for if right now it was November and voting time. I'm weighing all issues and I'm so confused on who I'd vote for. A friend and I were talking about this last night and the only thing I do not agree with about Obama is his pro stance on gay marriage. And there's some stuff about McCain I don't like so I'm stumped. What do you all think? Think about the issues, not just what you were raised as (republican or democrat). Think for yourselves.
Maybe its time.

If you read my blog, you already know who I am voting for and why. :-) When McCain was a shoe in for the Republican nomination, I had to check out all the other candidates too, because there are a few issues in which I don't agree with him. I went to CNN's site, because I figured they are more neutral than most of the sites (if anything they are more liberal). Based on what I read, I can't vote for Obama or Hillary. They are pretty evenly matched on the issues. My biggest problem with both is their social policies. They want to bail all these people out who are endanger of losing their homes and extend health care to people who can afford it, but don't want to pay for it. What they don't stress though is that somebody has to pay for it all! So in other words, you and I will be paying higher taxes to pay for everyone else's problems. Anyway, I could talk for hours about it, but you can read for yourself.
Man where do I start. I think they are all bad for America, but what can you do. Obama and Hillary are basically twins when it comes to the issues. I am completely against their plans on healthcare, national security, foreign policy, taxes, abortion, our boarders, etc. But wait, Obama is such a great speaker and he wants change, he's got my vote, NOT. It takes a lot more than just good looks and charisma. However, McCain isn't much better for republicans. I only like his stance on national security, but he stinks on the boarder and he is spinless when it comes to standing up for his party. So I have quite a dilema. I don't like any of them, but it may come down to who can do the least damage or I may just write in a name. If enough people did write in's that would make such a statement, but people are too scared to lose to the other party. I just want someone who will put aside their vanity and pride and do what is right for once, either democrat or republican. So that is a long comment, sorry.
I have never been a real McCain fan and actually considered Obama as a good alternative but after doing all of my research and evaluations, I have decided that I agree more with McCain than Obama on the issues and thus my vote will lie with him. Sad when you aren't very excited about the options but what are you to do!
I think I want to move to England.
Its nice to see America finally moving in the right direction...
If you are looking at somebody strong on foreign policy and a real American hero, McCain is best qualified.
If you are looking for someone who is likely to be the most effective in Washington, then Hillary is your best bet.
If you want a more positive personality and tired of partisan rhetoric, then Obama is the right candidate.
Lastly I will give the same advice I gave another, vote for the candidate based on whet they CAN do, not what they CANT (Gay marriage is probably not a relevant issue since none of the candidates have the power or influence to legislate it).
For me, the choice between Barack and McCain will be sweet. Both are politicians who are credible, and though the gap in experience might be large, some of the best presidents in the US have had very little political experience (Reagan, Lincoln). Its not very often you find yourself in an election where you are stuck between the choice of two very good candidates...November will be sweet....
BLAH, I will be voting for NONE of them. I like the idea of writing in a vote, mine will be for Romney:)!
