Engagement

My cousin from Lebanon, Jad, just got engaged to a beautiful woman, Zeina. We are all so happy for him. He is such a great guy. My family is all very close and everyone came together and helped him through his education in the States and now he has his Masters in engineering and is very successful back in Lebanon. Living in Lebanon as a child, he has seen a lot of violence from the wars over there. His home has been bombed 3 times and thank goodness, my family has survived each bombing. He has had the courage to leave his family, while constantly worry about their safety back home, to pursue an education in the States and we are all so proud of him and what he has endured. Besides having tremendous courage, he is a sweet, kind and funny guy and we are all so excited and happy he has found such a wonderful, beautiful lady as Zeina. Some of you who were at my wedding might remember him. He was there. Congratulations you two!!!! We are sooooooo happy!
The tradition over there in the Mid East is that you have a big fancy party when yo get engaged and it's a planned event with both family's. Once the house you are going to live in is done and everything is all planned, then you have a huge, lavish wedding. We are hoping we can go to the wedding next year. I would love to see all my cousins and aunts and uncles and my grandmother.
