I've started working for MAC....

and I LOVE it! I don't love the actual 7 hour days away while being in Phoenix to train, but I LOVE what I am learning. Luckily, Matt doesn't start his new job til the 22nd so the kids are well taken care of and by the time he starts, I'll just be working my normal scheduled 12 hours a week. Yeah, 12 hours and still totally like a part-timer! I am so happy! Yesterday, we learned all about the perfect red lips, how to highlight them, contour the color to get a shade that makes them look more volumptuous and we learned how to tone it down if you need to. Yeah um, out of all the people there, the trainer asked ME to be the lip model and she just demonstrated how to define the outer corners of the lips with a darker hue to create a shading illusion. So interesting. Um, I have NEVER thought I have good lips and here she is asking ME to be the demo? Crazy. All the tricks and things you learn are sooooo incredible and all the techniques, you would have never thought there were such techniques.. This training is sooooooooo informative and FUN! We had the Vermont Sandwich Company cater yesterday and today we had California Pizza Kitchen. Today, we learned all about the color spectrum and complimentary colors, monochromatic and analogous colors, primary, secondary and tertiary colors. It was sooooo fascinating. We were assigned a lipstick shade and with the primary colors plus white and black in thick lip paint, we had to replicate the color perfectly. Mine was a deep shiny coral color and seriously, it is a lot harder than you would think. But it was so fun and I loved it. Today we got to come to work with our makeup done in the colors of our favorite flower. I used light yellow, blush pinks and whites and shimmer to create the colors of a peony. Tomorrow, we have to come with a color variety of our choice from our spectrum and what we learned. I am really loving this. I feel so blessed. Everyone is really cool I am just really excited to start actually DOING makeup on customers next week. Oh and we were given a lipgloss and full size facial cleanser this morning as a gift.....the perks just keep on comin!
