Momma's little helper

Since my boys can't sleep at even naptime without a song and prayer, before Kaden's nap earlier, he was calling out to me to come sing and say prayer with him. I was changing Alec who did not want to be changed and who was doing the alligator roll, as I call it, where he won't stop turning over from back to stomach over and over again while throwing a fit and let me tell ya, when you've been up since the wee hours of morning, holding a stubborn 16 month old down is very hard when you have a diaper in one hand and a distraction toy in the other. Well Kaden's inquiries of when I was going to come into his room to do our sleeping routine turned into whines, then cries and I was stressed. I still couldn't velcro the darn piece to Alec's diaper to keep it on because of the alligator roll. Without me knowing, Bryce realized the stress was about to erupt into an explosion and he quickly went to Kaden, tucked him in, sang "families can be together forever" (our bedtime song) and had Kaden say a prayer. I finally got Alec changed, put on his shorts which he didn't want to step into so both feet were now in one leg hole of the shorts, warmed up his milk, threw him in his crib (ok, so I gently laid him in there actually) and shut the door. Ahhhhh, silence....but wait a minute, had Kaden fallen asleep? No way, not without song and prayer. He's too stubborn. I went in his room, saw that he was just laying there calmly, preceded to do the routine and he stopped me and said, "it's ok mommy, Bryce already handled it." I kissed Kaden and he fell asleep. I went outside to find Bryce sitting on the chair eating an otter pop as a reward for himself. What a smart kid!

I found this green fan thing Bryce is holding in the freezer. When I asked why it was in the freezer, he simply told me that he wanted cold air to blow on his face. I love how kids think!

What a great experience to have with your boys. It proves kids keep getting better. Way to go Bryce and mommy and daddy for teaching your kids right.

so I got cut off... I was saying you look great, all mommy'd out - with THREE? Holy cow! If anyone knows anything about the stay at home mom thing it's you. Wow. Good work! I'm thrilled for you! Good to see all the folks on here from the single days, it's fun to catch up. I'll definitely keep in touch!
